Back from Otakuthon 2018

Back from Otakuthon 2018

It’s been a long weekend, but I am back from Otakuthon 2018. Coverage of the event and of Anime Revolution 2018 will also be posted shortly. All in all, it was a great weekend with good food, good friends, and a good convention experience.

After a weekend like that, it’s time to get in some good sleep and head back to work for the week. Just as an update, I will also likely be attending Grand Prix Denver 2018 for Magic: The Gathering.

Sakura-con 2018

There’s nothing quite like the con you go to with friends on a yearly basis. Sakura-con may not be my hometown con but I have been going since 2014 now. I met some good friends there and have been going ever since. Sakura-con 2018 was certainly something.

Anime Revolution 2017 Day 2

Anime Revolution 2017 Day 2

Saturday is usually the best day of any three-day convention. First, you actually get to sleep in a bit and not have other responsibilities. Not to mention, this is the day that is actually chalked full of content. This Day 2 was no different and led to many laughs.

Anime Revolution 2017 Day 1

Day 1’s of conventions usually means preparation and heading out early to make sure you don’t miss any of the action. Unfortunately, this year, I was stuck with work in the morning and could not make it until later in the evening. On the bright side, I managed to get my photographer to head in earlier in the day to cover the first part of the day.

Back from Anime Revolution 2017 & Updates

There is always something about post-con days. Not only are you usually mentally and physically drained, a part of you also feels absent. There’s no better way to describe it other than “Post-con depression.” It can happen to anybody and the quality or even length of the convention is irrelevant. After spending BC Day off to recover, it is time to post some updates.

Kumoricon 2016 Day 1

Kumoricon 2016 Day 1

Trying to shake off the feelings of impending disappointment, I got up earlier in the morning to take a shower and prepare for the first day of Kumoricon 2016. It took a while to get everyone else up, but we eventually managed to have everyone present for our first morning excursion together.

Kumoricon 2016 Day 0

Kumoricon 2016 Day 0

Recently, it feels like I have been to the same few cities for conventions. It is usually either just the one here in Vancouver in August or down in Seattle. However, a Twitter conversation led to a convention a bit off the radar. Since one of the crew lives in Portland, there were a few idea thrown around to head to Kumoricon 2016. This was the first year it moved to the Convention Center in Downtown Portland. Let’s just say it would be one heck of a weekend.
